We have won the competitive dialogue conducted by SPL Paris et Métropole aménagement on behalf of the City of Paris for the transformation of the Porte de la Villette in Paris.
Our proposal takes the form of a large triangular public space of around 5 hectares that slips beneath the infrastructure. This square-garden is on the scale of the challenge of linking up the area: it forms an identifiable figure, allowing us to situate ourselves, to imagine the place. This central public space is the key element in a wider system of promenades and parks, a principle for transforming and calming this part of the “ring-road city” between Paris, Aubervilliers and Pantin.
